About a year ago, I had a low coolant warning and topped the car up with the recommended coolant. Everything went well until a month ago, I had to top the car up again. Both times, I had to use around 1.3 litres. After about a week, the low coolant warning popped up again and I checked, the coolant was way lower than the minimum. I looked under the car, and I found a small puddle right next to the rear passenger wheel. I took off the engine cover and didn't notice anything in the engine, but I saw a few pink stains on the engine cover(pictured) and there was a stain on the plastic under panel(also pictured). Did anyone have this issue?

UPDATE: I topped the car up again today, used approximately 1.7 Litres. Im going to check the water pump to see if its leaking from there. I hope its not corroded pipes

The photos are the engine cover in place? Top view? If so - that has absolutely nothing to do with your leakage issues. Water doesn't flow uphill. Might you have spilled some when topping up? BTW - it might be useful to know the year/engine of what I assume is your Cayman..

I wouldn't be concerned about the stuff on top of the engine cover - but I would be concerned about coolant loss.. coolant is not supposed to be consumed. It should actually NEVER need "topping-off" - if it needs topping off there is a leak, and leaks rarely heal themselves, they usually become worse. Perhaps it's time to have a pro take a look at it.

Yup, none of my other cars ever needed any "topping-off". I had scheduled a mechanic for next week, but I was curious to see what others had to say about this or if they have had the same issue. Bad timing though, I was planning on putting it up for sale
