Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Looking at trading my '12
Cayman S
for a CPO 991. I have my eye on two cars. both listed just short of $130k new.
'15 C4S 11k, Dark blue metallic with black standard interior.
PASM
sport,
PDK
, SC, PDLS, Park assist, glass sunroof, PSP, 14-way seats, Prem+,
Bose
, SD wheel.
Would have 4 1/2 years warranty. $97k
'13 C2S 24k. Agate Grey with Black/Plat grey two tone interior. Same options as above, minus the sunroof and Park assist, + Sport Exhaust, PDCC, rear wiper, folding mirrors, Carbon interior package, center console in carbon, wheels painted platinum, Adaptive sport seats with Prem package+
would have 2 years warranty for $79k.
I'm leaning towards the '13 due to the great mix of comfort and performance options. Thoughts?
I wouldn't worry about that, 991.1 are very reliable vehicles. You don't need the AWD in Texas. The 2013 C2S seems more desirable to me, two tone interior,
PSE
, adaptive seats. Plus it's cheaper, who doesn't want to save a few bucks. You should make this a poll.
I have a
987.1
Cayman S
and recently purchased a
997.2
C4S.
Several reasons I would go for the C4S:
1. Great looking, wide body rear end (assuming they use the narrow
911
body on the 2013 C2s)
2. The C4S is less than 80 pounds heavier than the C2S so you get front wheel drive with little weight gain.
3. Better traction leaving corners, especially high speed corners than the C2S (because of the AWD)
4. I wouldn't say a "better" weight distribution but a "different" weight distribution than the C2S
5. Despite the AWD, you still have plenty of "steer by throttle" fun that makes the
911
a very different drive than any
Cayman
6. C4s is more rare, I wouldn't say keeps its value "better" than a C2S but generally the C4S are more expensive than comparable C2Ss
Disadvantages
1. Again, heavier than a C2S
2. When you need a wheel alignment, you need to do all four wheels
You might want to check out some garage queen
997.2
C4S models. I found a 2009 Launch Edition C4S with OEM carbon fiber racing seats with less than 15K miles for a bit less than 60K. I am not knocking the 2015 models as I have not driven them but I really like the look and drive of the
997.2
models.
Oh, and I love the
Cayman
too which is a MT, but my wife does too so she has basically stolen the keys to that car
Thanks for the input. I put a deposit on the '13 so it doesn't get sold before I can get up there. I figure with all the cash I save over the '15, I can always buy more warranty after two years.
I'm sure you will love the C2S too. Are you in the Longhorn Chapter of PCA? IF so maybe we can swap keys at Harris Hill or a Retama AutoX. Best of luck with the new car
Both cars look great. The C4S drives differently than the C2S. That may not matter if you're
not
planning to drive the car at 9/10ths, but here's what EVO had to say about them in a head to head comparison:

A 991 is in my future as well. I'm leaning towards getting a Dark Blue Metallic C2S or even a base Carrera as the 2WD cars more than enough for street driving and mechanically simpler than the AWD models. Having said that, I might end up in a 4 or 4S if it's opportunistic, but wouldn't optimize for finding one.
I would look to having power steering plus disengaged to improve steering feel. Lots of posts on ******** regarding this. 991 is a great car, congrats. More pics please.
Wow, that is gorgeous.
I am already starting to plan my
987.1
to 991 progression. I probably will want to wait about three years, as I am just getting my
Cayman
dialled in and I like it still.
But, I can already tell that I miss the 2+2 seating, and want more legroom, nicer interior, more torque, etc.
Congratulations and enjoy fully.
