Thanks, but Top Gear don't show any titanium exhaust for the 996 as being available and I found the "advice" (from a moderator no less) particularly unhelpful, considering that (1) I had already used the search feature with no luck and (2) they completely missed the fact that I am asking for feedback on one specific exhaust.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, just wondering if anyone has any experience of this exhaust for their 996 TT? https://www.design911shop.com/Exhau...esignTek-for-Porsche-996-Turbo_2_2/prod21300/ Seems pretty good value for a fully Ti exhaust with sports cats, but I wonder what it's like for: - volume - exhaust note - drone :?: :thumb:

POST 2Original post

There are a few threads on here discussing Design Tek exhausts. Have a search.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Wow, useful. I have searched, several times, over the past few days. I thought it was obvious in the title and opening post, but I'm not interested in "DesignTek exhausts", I'm interested in one, very specific, exhaust made by DesignTek, for one very specific car. Given this is a different design and material to their usual line up, reading about stainless steel, GT3, Carrera, valved, decatted, 100 CEL cats, bypassed cats etc is useless to me. :frustrated:

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Seems everyone's a critic here tonight, yet no one has any experience of the actual exhaust I'm interested in? Funny how people drop into threads with zero intention of adding anything useful, but feel more than justified posting a snipe. Guess I'll just have to rely on the one thread that mentions an exhaust like this in passing 5 years ago then.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Dad. Got anything useful to add? You know you could just ignore this thread entirely and get on with your life?

POST 8Original post

I've just ordered one of these so hopefully be able to get some sound clips by the weekend

POST 9Original post

This isn't the piston heads forum. We tend to be nice here... no need to react so harshly to a fairly kind suggestion of using the search feature. Are the designtek exhausts rebranded top gear exhausts? The ones I have seen look very similar. That might give you another avenue for research. POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone with experience of exhausts can tell you that the material an exhaust is made out of can really impact the noise and tone of an exhaust, even if it's exactly the same design as another (although they rarely are). I therefore couldn't care less what other Design Tek exhausts sound like, as it's no indication of what this specific exhaust sounds like!

POST 11Original post

Did anyone ever fit the designtek titanium exhaust and any experiences good or bad?

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
