Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello all. My 986 has started continuously beeeeeeeeping (as if im about to hit something) when in reverse. Its original factory sensors. All been cleaned just incase. Any suggestions for this???? Cheers folks.

POST 2Original post

Can you disconnect the, er, connection(s) to the sensor(s)... see if it stops beeping? Double check fuses. "Smack", independently, each sensor... maybe one is wonky. That's all I've got... and is what I would do before proceeding. Or, earplugs.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the reply. Faulty sensor i think. Whilst reverse is engaged (by someone else obvs) i could touch each sensor. 3 are ‘tapping’ whilst 1 remains dead. Looks like the bumper will be getting removed!!

Yep that's the way to test them, replacement Chinese ones cheap enough on ebay and work just as well
