That i don't know but i did watch a video online of someone changing the hinge and the bracket on there's was flexing as they were doing it so the bracket on theirs cant have been steel.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi chaps, i bought a new hinge for my fuel flap but it would appear i need the bracket the it mounts to as well but cant find that anywhere so if anyone knows where i can buy that please let me know. Thanks

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The actual plastic hinge that the flap mounts to clips in to a fibre/plastic bracket that is riveted/screwed in to wing in the filler aperture, see pics

POST 4Original post

Are your wings fibre glass or metal? Presumably they're aftermarket? I wonder whether this bit is integral/spot-welded on a genuine wing and simply omitted from yours. If you want to reinstate it you may need to get one from a used genuine 996/7 wing.

POST 5Original post

That metal part which the hinge attaches to is a part of the wing, not a part available on its own: MC

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes they are genuine 997 wings and the bracket is plastic/fibre not metal so i really don't know.

POST 7Original post

They might be genuine but were they new :?: Maybe your bracket was 3D printed :dont know:

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

That i don't know but i did watch a video online of someone changing the hinge and the bracket on there's was flexing as they were doing it so the bracket on theirs cant have been steel. Have you checked yours to see if its steel or fibre?

POST 9Original post

I've just checked mine and it's very difficult to tell what material it's made of. It is definitely a separate part and is stuck or spot-welded in. My guess is that it's steel as it seems unlikely that metal to plastic glue would stand the test of time especially where the part is solid (no flex in situ) and seems to be a support for a part that is often moved (the fuel flap).

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Mmmm! Ive bought a scrap wing off Ebay so ill try a remove the bracket and fit it to mine, wish me luck c:
