After two months of vacillating on what to replace my Lotus with I finally picked up a 991 C2S today.
Considered the GTR, R8, Viper, C7 Z06 & 997TT, but saw this one and couldn't pass it up. PDK (1st non-manual, hope I don't regret it!), SC, SPASM, fire extinguisher (woohoo), sport technos & Aerokit (which was a big reason why I bought it).
Ah, now your Cayman has a friend. Beautiful. I wonder if you'll find another Porsche to be surplus to requirement or if you'll find them each rewarding in different ways.
I just picked up a Lotus. What made you ditch yours?
PS: Your house is so cool!
Their similarity was/is a concern, but I just couldn't get excited about any of the other options that were in the budget. The Cayman is intended to be a dd and the 911 will be the new track car. So they at least in theory have different roles (in my mind). I could see swapping the Cayman for a 4C in a year or so if they don't offer enough differences to merit keeping both.
Number one reason I sold the Lotus was the lack of a dealer or good indy shop nearby. Where I previously to live I had a great indy shop. Second, is I wanted something with more grunt for the track, and also just for a change of pace.
Thx just moved into the house as well, I thought it was kinda neat.
Welcome to the slippery slope, first it will be track
tires
and track wheels then a 5 pt harness, then new
exhaust
then .........btw gorgeous car, love that color
You got the cool wheels. 305s in the rear instead of the standard 295s. Good choice.
Congrats, you'll enjoy the new ride I'm sure. Great looking colour. Look forward to your comparative posts.
Beautiful car! Congratulations.
love the colour and the car(s). nice duck tail too....
PDK
is fast whilst remaining quite mechanical with the associated noise, sensations (at least in my 987) and makes an excellent daily driver too.
I'm still surprised by how much meaner/nicer the 3.8 sounds over the 2.7. Big difference. Also really makes the Cayman feel sloow.
Also just figured out the adaptive sport seats have power bolsters, should be very nice for the track. Only noticeable negative so far is for some reason the 911 Bose is far inferior to the Cayman's, which seems odd.
Congrats. Looks fantastic!!
