So for my birthday, my wife bought me a 911GT3RS. Kind of. I thought someone might be interested in my build, so here goes.
2,704 pieces in total. I was really excited to put it together. It has a 4 speed PDK gearbox, working steering and paddle shifters, working suspension, working frunk, glove box, and rear wing and a horizontal 6 in the back. Just like the real thing!
It comes in 4 parts - the mechanicals are first, followed by the chassis, and body panels. All in, I it took me around 6 hours to build, and was a lot of fun.
This is about 1/3 of the way through box 1. You can see part of the PDK in back. Sorry the picture is upside-down. It's right side up on my computer.
This is after the end of box 1. You can see the flat 6, suspension, steering wheel, and flappy-paddles.
This is with the chassis mounted to the mechanicals.
And the final product. My wife says it's a toy. Thanks for reading.
nice!
didnt have the time to build mine yet....how many hours did you reckon you spent on it?
did you have to apply any new fixes for the PDK smooth shifting?
Sweet! 299.00 vs 245,000 is a much better deal for a GT3.
It took me about 6 hours, spread around two weeks - I think. I applied the fix so that it shifts gears 1, 2, 3, 4, in that order. The shift action is just fine. Good luck with yours. It's a lot of fun. And big!
Sweet. I have yet to start on mine too. Did the big crane set first that my wife got me for our anniversary. That was a fun build and quite a large set too. Looking forward to doing this one. Next one I have in mind is the Mercedes ACOG ( wrong spelling? ) truck that has over 2900 parts!
looks like there's a few lego fans here... digitalrouni you mean AROCS?
yes, string fellow, i keep running out of space to keep/display them as the size of the sets are quite large.
Hah AROCS is it. You are correct! ACOG is like a scope for a rifle lol!
Did the MB Crane last year, and I just finished the Bucket Wheel Excavator.... holy crap that thing is
huuuuge.
did you find the tips for removing the body so you can view the chassis and engine for the GT3RS... a few pins removed allows you to lift the body off if you wish.
That fellow knows his car inside and out!
