Ive checked my ground connections, I ran the speaker wires on the opposite side from the power wires, and the RCA cables from the radio to the amps are shielded models.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello, I have a 2001 Porsche 911, which is a 996 Carrera 4 with all-wheel drive and a manual transmission. I'm currently installing two amplifiers and new speakers. The head unit was already replaced with an aftermarket one with Apple CarPlay about two years ago. When I turn the key to the "on" position (engine not started), I get a very high-pitched and loud noise coming from the speakers. It seems to be coming from the throttle body. When I unplug it, the sound stops... Is this a known issue? Should I replace the throttle body, or is the problem elsewhere? Ive checked my ground connections, I ran the speaker wires on the opposite side from the power wires, and the RCA cables from the radio to the amps are shielded models. I'm pretty confused in my troubleshooting process. Thanks for your help!

POST 2Original post

How did you find the sound out of the speakers is related to the throttle body? When you mention unplugging it, you mean the cable going to the throttle body? is the sound from all the speakers? You verified the ground cable on the right side (passenger side in US) of the engine? -Eric

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

yes when i unplug the TBI the sounds gone . No i dont check this do you have more info on this where is it or a picture please

POST 4Original post

Engine ground is on the right side of the engine, behind the wheel, you should be able to see if if you look up behind the wheel, from the body to the engine..... I'd start there...... maybe check it isn't rotten...... Pic 34: https://www.pelicanparts.com/techart...ngine_Drop.htm -Eric
