Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that suspect a cause
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suspected cause
As things stand now, you're probably looking at trading the CS in plus paying $45-50K for the 2009 (with probably a little more miles on it).
Leading evidence: 'little more miles' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'little more miles' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean anyway' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
Improved DFI engines get you more power, better gas mileage, improved reliability plus the other advantages of the '09 include universal audio interface/bluetooth, new PCM, and slightly restyled front and rear fascias with daytime running LED lights.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Was at a local dealer this week and an 08 Cab. S on the lot caught my eye. So I drove it and liked it a lot. I always liked the 911 cabs but have been very happy with my Cayman S. So here's where I need a little help. I had the dealer look at my 2007 Cayman S w/ 38000 miles in good to excelllent shape with a good array of options , only needs rear tires. Theirs a 2008 911 cab.S with 1400 yes 1400 miles with about the same options as my Cayman. Not CPO they want my car and $42000. which to me seems a little high. Any input would be helpful, or should I just wait til mid-winter and try to snag an 09 of the same model.
If you're in no rush, I'd say wait for an 09 in the middle of winter when no one is in any mood for a convertible.
Plus with an 09, you get the improved DFI engines.
Totally agree. Improved DFI engines get you more power, better gas mileage, improved reliability plus the other advantages of the '09 include universal audio interface/bluetooth, new PCM, and slightly restyled front and rear fascias with daytime running LED lights. Honestly, whatever route you choose, you won't be disappointed. The '09 will always cost more than the '08.
Thanks for the replys. I would love to wait for an 09 but even in the middle of the winter I don't think it's possible to get into an 09 cab S with under $40,000.00 and my trade. Or one that's clean anyway. Maybe I'm wrong, just not sure.
You may be right. I think if you played things right, you could trade your '07 CS in and pony up just under $40K and get that very low mileage '08 S Cab. As things stand now, you're probably looking at trading the CS in plus paying $45-50K for the 2009 (with probably a little more miles on it).
Once again, it's up to you, your wants, and your funds. Absolutely nothing wrong with the low mileage '08 S cab. What options are on it?
Nice. Don't worry about sport chrono. If you really want, Softronic reflash is the way to go and it will give you the "sport" setting. I'm not a big modification guy, but I really liked this reflash on my previous Cayman S. Buy it and send us pics!
I wouldn't do it without CPO. I just traded out my 2003 C2 Cab for a 2007 turbo coupe. Had CPO on the cab which saved me thousands (2 a/c compressors, coil pack, 02 sensor + cat).
There was a 2008 turbo cab at my dealer - which they couldn't CPO because a fender had been replaced.
My dealership wanted to CPO my car - didn't affect the deal - I get all my servicing done there and am a good customer (Princeton Porsche, great dealership).
Still waiting for the dealer to get back to me with a final price w/CPO. What I don't get is what the hold up is,you'd think this time of year they'd want to move a cabriolet with winter just around the corner.???
Finally picked her up(2008 911 S Cab.w/1700 mi.CPO) Sat.Nov.6th. Waiting for the sun to return to the northeast, maybe a little Indian summer. Sad to say but as much as I loved my Cayman S I didn't miss her as I drove away.
Congrats Cayman2 I understand 100%. I loved my 2010 Cayman S but always wanted a 911 and when I drove away in my 2011 911S i never looked back... As we know all Porsches are great! Just want what we want...
