Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
I dont disagree with using the lwfw on the correct application.
Leading evidence: 'Use lwfw' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use lwfw' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I know this sounds silly, but......
SO MANY Dual Mass Flywheels out there are being discarded.
I wonder if anyone has taken one apart or tried to convert it to a Lightweight version.
Just wondering......

r u saying to lighten a dual mass? That basically defeats the purpose if a dual mass. U would just have a complicated dual mass that drives like a single mass.
I know it is there to reduce engine vibration and make for a more comfortable driving experience.
The reason I ask is so many like to track their Porsches and the throttle response improves with the lightweight flywheel.
Not for everyone I know.
Have a great Porsche day y'all.

I dont disagree with using the lwfw on the correct application. I have one on my mezger motor. I dont really have an opinion on using it on the m96_07 motors. What i am saying is the dual mass is weighted in such a way to do a specific job. It adds complexity to a simple system for comfort. If u want to reduce rotating weight u go with a single mass lwfw. A lightened dmfw not only removes its benifits but also reduced reliability.
I was inspired to put a LWFW on my 99 C2 (over 15 years ago) by Alex at Sharkwerks. He installed one on his "Project White Shark" build. I bought an Aasco LWFW used. It got damaged during shipping, so I sent it to Randy at Aasco to be refurbished. I discussed the pros and cons of installing the LWFW on my car with Randy.
I have thoroughly enjoyed having a LWFW on my car and I would highly recommend it. Back when our cars were coming off warranty, there were lots of guys modifying our cars and tracking them every weekend.....including those with LWFWs and even superchargers (Vortech, TPC, and Ruf all sold them for our cars). I can't name a single one that experienced engine failure.
