Suggestion

It's not too bad, but I still would insist on a manual parking brake as it has more uses than just holding the car in place after you stop.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 2Original post

Re: 991 Interior Spy Shots Looks like a step backward to me. If I wanted a Cayenne or a Panamara I would have bought one.

POST 3Original post

Interesting. I guess it was inevitable that the Panamera styling cues trickles down (or is that across?) the entire line.

POST 4Original post

Re: 991 Interior Spy Shots agree, looks nice in the panamera, but for the 911 I prefer the current design

POST 5Original post

Re: 991 Interior Spy Shots Unimpressive. Think of all the cracks, crevices and caverns to keep clean.

POST 6Original post

Re: 991 Interior Spy Shots I also noticed there is no handbrake?? is the 911 heading towards an electronic button handbrake similar to the Cayenne?

POST 7Original post

I see the same old cup holder peeking out from under the mat.

POST 9Original post

2 words- Carrera GT. The high center console was inspired by the the CGT which I think is a sports car or no I think it is a supercar.. whatever. I like the high console which also makes the buttons more accessible but the whole center console should really be a touchscreen (ala 918) and they should have the performance mode buttons on the steering wheel.

POST 10Original post

Well, I guess it was inevitable. Cayennes and panameras are getting excellent reviews and selling well. Personally, I think there's too many buttons going on there. I understand the need for tactile feedback, but when you got that many, at the size they are, it kind defeats the purpose. Oh well, it definitely looks fitting of a high end car.

POST 11Original post

Glad that I have my 2011 vs waiting for the 2012. I agree with others... It looks great in the Cayenne and Panamera but I am not crazy about it in a 911. I know it is in the GT and maybe it will grow on me in a 911 but at first glance it does not look good.

POST 12Original post

are you sure it is for the 911? I love it... but it is too fancy (and probably heavy) for the 911, don't you think!

POST 13Original post

The photo is the real deal. Electronic parking brake has been confirmed elsewhere. It's not my cup of tea as it seems incongruous with a sports car, CGT echo notwithstanding. The 911 may in the end go out w/ a whimper rather than a bang as it seems to be morphing away from a sports car and more into a 928 type of GT. What remains to be seen is whether or not this design ends up in the 987 successors as well. Remember the 987 and 997 interiors are essentially the same.

POST 14Original post

I actually like it. Will be nice to see it in person and see if it "works" when driving the car.

POST 15Original post

It's not too bad, but I still would insist on a manual parking brake as it has more uses than just holding the car in place after you stop. I like the current 911 layout better. --Ed

POST 16Original post

I like it. I like the current interior to a degree but think that comparitively it looks cheap compared to other rival cars. It will be hard to get the right balance between function and amenaties (either too cheap or too over the top). I don't think Porsche's interiors have had the balanced feel since the 993. Then again, maybe that is because I miss the old 993TT... Looking forward to seeing this in real life..

POST 17Original post

Without full leather the new interior will probably look as cheap as the current interior does. Actually even w/ leather the new interior has a stitch seam that divides the top of the instrument cluster that looks quite strange, so maybe the full leather isn't such a good choice either.

POST 18Original post

What I find more interesting about the spy photographs than the fact that the new 911 interior will be a big improvement, is that there is no Cayman in any of the spy shots (there is a Boxster)

POST 19Original post

Looks like they found room to squeeze in an 8-track player underneath the radio knobs. Nice to see they're catering appropriately to their clientele.

POST 20Original post

Looks like the guy has a pack of Camels in his pocket. He better not be smokin' in the Mule!

POST 21Original post

Lol what? The new interior looks like a HUGE upgrade. I hope the Cayman S will get the new interior.

POST 23Original post

I like it. Yes, it does look fancier -- a long way from raw sports car -- but to my eye it's very attractive. Interesting to see if Cayman and Boxster get it, too.

POST 24Original post

Does anyone know if the model designation is 991 for sure and not 998? Tia Marc

POST 25Original post

That look won't to do any harm to China's growing demand for 'luxury' cars. Must say, I really can't picture that look in a GT3 (nevermind an RS version).

POST 26Original post

I like it a lot! gives the car a hemmed in feeling too I bet, not unlike an aircraft cockpit.. Let's face it, the 911's interior was getting VERY long in the tooth!! Well done Porsche for daring to update it properly.. Can't wait to try out the new lighter 3.4 version of the Carrera.

POST 27Original post

Did anybody else notice the key to the bottom right corner of the steering?

POST 28Original post

If the key moves to the right we can definitely say the baton has been passed to a new generation. The 991 will be the first 911 of the 21st century and is obviously being designed for a new generation of buyers whose concept of the 911 is not anchored in the late 60s and early 70s.
