please soften them up, as i am having the mother of all services (8yr, 48k) tomorrow (i know, i should use an indy, and i will, as soon as my warranty runs out, i promise (i am too busy to use indy for service and OPC for warranty work))

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just got a call from OPC West London saying that its all done, but they found a few items that require attention...
1) Air con service..........Forget it mate!
2) Tires.................Forget it mate!
3) Broken Radiator Cap, its allowing water to leak, now im sure thats a warranty item. (Hardly wear and tear!)
4) And leaves and debris blocking the radiators...for which they would like to charge £60 for the pleaseure of clearing it out!!!!!!!
5) Ignition Coil...ok, i'll give'em that!!
Am i right in thinking that the cap should come under the warranty?
Going to speak to the service manager, and have a debate on the aforementioned!

Every time I have serviced at Chiswick, they have done my RMS, and suggested wipers, tyres, pads & discs, & debris around radiators. They do try it on a bit (just a tad). Sometimes they are valid suggestions for work that is needed, but that isnt often. Regardless, I do all that stuff myself.
Oh - and I bet you find a 1ltr bottle of oil in your boot.
:help:
:nooo:
I spoke to the Service manager there (Greg), and told him that after getting my pants down for all the service i required, they could at least hoover the debris...but it looks like i will have to get out the old Dyson extension ! :yahoo:
The funniest part of the whole scenario was that i told him that the technican quoted me £80 for the coil, when he knew i had warranty on the vehicle, and i am truly not happy about that. I told him that speaking to members of the 911UK forum i was informed that this part should be covered, therefore was this a case of daylight robbery?! He kind off went a quiet after that one, and kept telling me in the most apologetic manner "i'll look into this matter" around 5 times in a row! :floor:  :thumb: :thumb:
He's still being stubborn about a £10 expansion tank cap under warranty, but a bit more arguing and stubbornness should see me through!!!!
About the bottle of oil, theres already one there unopened, which i bought before a recent trip to Devon. I think i'll take the wife with me tomorrow and let her take over im sure they'll part with a anything then once she starts! :thewife: :thewife: :boxer: :yahoo:
About 18 months ago they also quoted me £60 to clear out the leaves, I told him not to bother, I would do it myself when I got it home so they said they would do it for nothing. Then he confessed, they have to do it anyway to see around the engine, so they had already done it.....
Like everyone else, you have to put up with it for a while, then go to an independent as soon as your warranty is expired.
LOJO
I find it really sad!
If it was a dodgy back street garage well you would shrug your shoulders and say well that goes with the territory!
I still live in this naieve world expecting that little bit more from a prestige OPC apart from posh coffee!! :x :x :? :? :nooo:
