I'm guessing theres no harm in only replacing the damaged tyre, just wondered about different tread depths on same axle...

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, Maybe a stupid question but I'll ask anyway. Have a puncture in one of the rear tyres so that needs replacing, the other rear tyre has plenty of life left it it. I'm guessing theres no harm in only replacing the damaged tyre, just wondered about different tread depths on same axle... :?

POST 2Original post

Porsche say no more than 30% difference on each axle... [edit] Therefore - New Tyre - 8mm Other Tyre - No less than 5.6mm

POST 4Original post

acc to British Standards yes but apparently Porsche advise against this... I repaired one for a short while but ended up replacing all 4 cos the tacking was out and scrubbed the inners...had no problems ion the time i was running the repaired rear but don't track it anyhow..

POST 5Original post

Porsche are just ass covering, If it is a nail in the tread i'd spend 10 quid getting it plugged, have done before & will again. don't let them screw £200 out of you for a bit of worry nonesense.

POST 6Original post

You're a braver man than me then... I did have a (much narrower) front tyre repaired once, and worried about going over 80 mph for the rest of the life of the tyre! No point in having a Porsche and driving it like a Daewoo. Next time I had a puncture I replaced the tyre... Don't know how you value your life Senoj, but I put mine somewhat higher than the cost of a tyre or two

POST 7Original post

Sidewall damage I would absolutely agree with you 100%, but a nail in the tread blocks......not a biggie IMHO.
