Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

Can't figure out which 433mhz TPM replacement to buy, lots of choices. Base 987.2 2912 17 inch wheels. Dealer wants $300 each, online they run $25 each. Not sure which exact one to buy? Will have dealer install with annual service coming up. Don't want dealer to tell me I bought the wrong brand and they dont work with it. .

POST 2Original post

You can get them from Tirerack. They will make sure they are the right fit for your car. I can’t remember the brand, but I’m pretty sure they were German. I would recommend getting it installed somewhere other than the dealer. A quality indie shop with Euro car experience.

POST 3Original post

One option? Discount tire has the right units and they won’t gouge you on installation or price.

POST 4Original post

Just replaced them on my ‘08 Boxster . These work perfectly. Actually went out yesterday and topped off all four tires at 30 lbs front, 37 lbs rear, verified with a good quality analog dial gauge, not a cheap pencil gauge. Went for a drive and the dash readout read 30/37 exactly. Used TPMS.com and had them installed at the local tire shop. Mounted and rebalanced all tires, which actually cost more per tire than the sensors. That’s a crazy number from the ‘stealership’.

POST 5Original post

The dealer probably farms out tire work to some local tire shop And then adds their " Porsche tax" markup to your bill. Seriously you're better off taking it to a good tire shop and eliminate the middle-man.

POST 6Original post

Thanks for all the help. Looks like this is the correct part. I'll follow up with tire shops.

POST 7Original post

Agreed with others - don't bother overthinking this. A tire shop can use whatever they offer and guarantee that it will work. I got mine from a local tire shop called Town Fair Tire, and they used an Autel brand. Works fine, and was $35 installed.

POST 8Original post

Discount tire replaced the ones on our 2013 Boxster . About $30 each including install when getting new tires.
