Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Went to change brakes and disc today. Started with the rear and the gold part off the back of the shim has broken off and it stuck inside of caliper. Ive tried a hook, small screw driver and needle nose , nothing seems to work but Im trying to be VERY careful to not damage caliper. Any suggestions ?

POST 2Original post

See if you can work a paint scraper in there, the large flat type of paint scraper.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Heres a pic of the problem.

POST 4Original post

Ahhh...drill a small hole, watch your depth, insert a screw in the small hole and pull. Spray some penetrant in there.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks all managed to get it after a hour or so.
