Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I need a bit of help. My tyres are Pirelli '0''s the fronts have around 3-4mm the rear are close to 1.6mm. Clearly I need to change them, the reason I am asking for help is that I am due to do a Track day in June and I seem to recall reading somewhere that it is not advisable to do a track day on new tyres. What are your thoughts, I am thinking of changing all 4 as the fronts whilst having 3-4mm do not look to cleaver after my last track day at Silverstone Gp circuit.

POST 2Original post

Do the trackday first, then change them. JohnC 993turbo

POST 3Original post

If its dry, slicks will work a treat ;-) Just getting the car back home will be a problem

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks to everyone. I have ordered 2 new rears and will change the fronts after the day.
