Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Outcome without a verified action link

In answer though, no difference to value, just more attractive.

No unique explicit quoted action; no causal link assigned

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was thinking last night about modifications that add value and was thinking that if you had 2 identical cars (same mileage, age, condition, etc) except one had a PSE fitted, what would be the difference in the asking price? Would there be any at all, or would it make the one with the PSE easier to sell? Also, does it make a massive difference to have the PSE fitted with the on/off swtich?

POST 2Original post

I would say it doesn't affect the price at all, but will certainly make your car easier to sell. Having the switch makes it look like a factory fit, so would be more reassuring to the potential purchaser.

POST 3Original post

The switch will be useful for track days- I would not be surprised at all if it failed on 'quiet' days without. It's also a really cool gadget... In answer though, no difference to value, just more attractive.

POST 4Original post

It depends on the buyer IMO - if there were two comparable cars, I would have paid a fair bit more for a car with PSE than without. The trouble is when I was looking, finding one decent one was hard enough, let alone another the same!

POST 5Original post

higher spec cars will fetch better prices at resale but I agree with above that modified cars will not sell for any more money they will just be easier to sell TB
