Very nice but I would consider replacing those MkI side skirts with the MkII skirts that actually flow properly with the front end that has been added to your car.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Guy's, I just got my new (well 2003) 996 last night. I love this car. I have one question. How do I set the outside temp display? I've gone through all the display settings and they are all set correctly, but when I finish the display for outside temp just shows ---- (4 dash's), like it's not registering temp. Any thoughts? One last thing...is it typical for these cars to be LOUD on the inside? It sounds like it needs rear bearings but the sound doesn't change at different speeds, I'm thinking it's just loud tire noise???

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

One more thing, is there a switch or button inside that manually lifts the rear spoiler?

POST 3Original post

Hello, The switch to manually lift the spoiler is on the bottom left side where the fuse cover is. You are probably right about the tire noise... check the inside rear's for wear. I would get this checked out right away. Not sure about the temp display... post some more pics of the car and welcome!

POST 4Original post

The temperature sensor should be in the passenger side front bumper duct visible from outside. Potentially this part is missing or shorted. It looks like you have an aftermarket front clip, potentially it was removed or damaged during that installation.

POST 5Original post

Nice 911 you got there. Enjoy the holidays cruising in it. Maybe even purposely get stuck in a traffic jam so you can enjoy just sitting there in defiance of the situation hehehe

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am so pumped, I just got it last night and I've alreadt waxed it this morning!!! Here are some pictures. I checked the tires and they're pretty worn in the rear and are from 2007. I guess that would account for some noise out back.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

One more question...where do you set the lights so the come on automatically when you start the car? Or can't you???

POST 8Original post

Nice looking Porsche, welcome.Where in Jersey are you? I was recently in Avalon for a wedding.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm not too far from Avalon. I live in Rumson by Asbury Park and Red Bank.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Is there anyway I can decipher what original options this car had from it's VIN?

POST 11Original post

Very nice but I would consider replacing those MkI side skirts with the MkII skirts that actually flow properly with the front end that has been added to your car.

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

You're the second person who has said that. I may do it eventually, but tires are my first order of business with this car.

POST 13Original post

Quotes source post: 8085452

Yes, but it's easier to look at the sticker under the front hood. It will list all factory option numbers.

POST 14Original post

Welcome Steve from another newbie. I've had mine for a couple of weeks but I still have the chills every time I drive my car. If you want to know the options of your car, go to suncoast's website here , and put in your VIN. They'll get back to you within a couple of days. You have to have automatic lights for them to turn on automatically.

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

There is a button on the dash that makes the exhaust louder when you press it. What is it's purpose? Is it just to make the exhaust less restrictive? I like it loud.

POST 16Original post

That means it's broken. Give me your address, and I'll have it picked up.

I'm new too. I get chills every time too, wondering if my RMS is gonna blow up... Just kidding. Everyone here seems to love that joke! Welcome a'board'

POST 19Original post

Well, it looks like we know at least one of the options that car came with... Definitely jealous of the PSE! Beautiful car, man, congrats! Enjoy it!

POST 20 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ok. Here's a stupid question from the newbie...what's a PSE?

POST 21Original post

There is a useful feature at the top of the screen called the Search function. It will take you to any thread that contains the keyword in your search. PSE stands for "promise Snookie everything".

POST 23 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I did a search before I asked the question. I know what it is I was wondering what it stands for. And no, manual.

POST 26Original post

Hi, I tried to DM you but couldn't find a way to do that...we have the same issue with the outside temp display reading ---F on our 2003 C4s, were you ever able to resolve?
