Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I was quite skeptical about getting it installed on my 997 but having done so I don't know why I waited to be honest.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • 911uk: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi I am thinking of installing a short shifter (Porsche Original) as the current gearshift action feels quite long. What is the consensus will it make much difference and what are your experiences good or bad? :?:

POST 2Original post

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Stuart thats great  I just put the wrong key words in the search

POST 4Original post

I have the B&M one on my tt. I thinks it's the best mod out there, slightly nothchy when cold and you have to be a little careful 2nd to 3rd. But the original was really loose feeling. This has a great positive feel, quite mechanical but I really like the click, click feel of it.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Senoj more positive would be good is a bit vague at the moment feels a little better when warm as i would expect. So am hoping a short shifter will improve the throw and make it feel more positive

POST 6Original post

they are a bit "marmite" but i would not revert back. fairly easy diy http://www.turbo911.com/showthread.php?t=282

POST 7Original post

"The" best affordable mod ever. I was quite skeptical about getting it installed on my 997 but having done so I don't know why I waited to be honest. Great mod. Little notchy when cold but nothing to worry about whatsoever. Do it and don't look back. :thumb:

Thanks for your replies I am going to get it done next week while the car is in the garage having the front bumper done to get rid of the stone chips. I am going down to Millbrook to do the Performance Driver Course at the same time. So I will update you on the short shifter when I get back .
