My second key, which seemed to also open the bonnet (hood) every time the car was unlocked, turned out to be a sticky interior hood switch, next to the seat.

(the light still shows up on my key when pressed, so i didn't suspect the battery)

I'll try and replace the battery in the key fob that seemed to screw up totally.

As though some strange setting is set for me which expects me to put a briefcase or something in the boot everytime i unlock the car.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

After getting car back from Dealership, noticed 2 problems .
1 my original remote key would not work to remotely unlock/lock/hood, or anything. I had to use the Door lock to unlock manually. (the light still shows up on my key when pressed, so i didn't suspect the battery)
when i got home, and tested my spare key, it works fine to lock the car, BUT when i UNLOCK it, it also POPS OPEN MY FRONT HOOD ??? As though some strange setting is set for me which expects me to put a briefcase or something in the boot everytime i unlock the car. (I duno). very strange.
Setting aside the first key issue (maybe it is a battery),
Has anyone ever experienced their remote key unlocking of their door, to ALSO unlock their front hood at the same time???
(btw, the separte trunk button does work when pressed separately).
thanks all . I await your expert replies.
I don't really believe in coincidence so the 'something' the dealership did has got to be suspect.
Having said that my main key fob was still lighting up recently but the battery was too shot to work properly and it caused some stange effects around the console and the seat memory as I recall.
I would have thought they worked properly or not at all but apparently that isn't the case.
Changed the key fob batteries and the problems vanished instantly.
Hook unlocking when door unlocked
Humm. thanks for your 2 bits. Worth a try for sure, especially with the finikeyness of this car.
I'll try and replace the battery in the key fob that seemed to screw up totally. Maybe it has something to do with it.
Anyone else have any suggestions?
AJ.
PROBLEM SOLVED
Thanks for your suggestions all.
Troubleshooting can be a bitch when what was thought to be one issue, turns out to be 2.
My first key fob must have simply crapped out at the unfortunate time of sending the car in for servicing. (i'll have to get a new one from porsche)
My second key, which seemed to also open the bonnet (hood) every time the car was unlocked, turned out to be a sticky interior hood switch, next to the seat. After flicking it a few times, everything worked fine. How odd, but since it's now fixed with little effort,..... i can stop sweating like a pregnant nun
cheerz.
AJ.
