This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'real prices' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'real prices' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Can anybody help. I have a 2002 C2 996 with 24k and FSH (all Porsche except the last one - Ninemiseter). I feel like a change and went to my local dealer who made me a great offer against a 997, however when I have looked around other dealers are offering "stupid bids". What do you think teh car is worth? :?
The car is a Seal Grey facelift, 3.6 Tiptronic with 24k on the clock and FSH (all Porsche except the last one, which was Ninemister in Warrington). 18" Turbo look alloys and a sunroof. In excellent condition 8)
The OPC will be over-allowing on your p/ex instead of discounting which they aren't supposed to do.
The indie bids are probably the real prices.
I would have said about £18K trade in at Indie and maybe £25K at an OPC against a new 997.
In answer to the original question... It's worth as much as someone is prepared to pay for it
Porsche values are hugely dependent upon desirability:
In your case...
For
- 24,000 miles (as long as history fully supports this - e.g. receipts)
- FSH (again as long as annual checks have been done even if v. low mileage)
- Colour of exterior
- Facelift with 3.6 engine
- Turbo look alloys (as long as they are genuine factory items)
Against
- Tiptronic is not the most popular choice for the enthusiast
- Basic spec (unless you've been hiding your light under a bushel)
Interior colour also makes a difference (Black is most desirable generally)
and of course condition!
Believe it or not - low mileage will be an issue for some people (as 996 engines are very susceptible to problems if not used regularly and warmed up properly)
Incidentally, I am assuming it is a coupe?
To get a valuation - look at similar cars for sale at OPCs, and subtract about £15,000 :hand:
That surprises me somewhat, unless they don't want to take any new stock, I would expect a realistic trade price of early 20s.
I would say that Tips are desirable cars as well, unless it's wanted as a weekend car.
Seeing the news about Congress not voting for Bush's financial rescue package today, I could take it off you hands for about £500.00. Send me a cheque or a BACS ASAP.
Sorry to say that you have hit the nail on the head, dealers don't want to take in new stock unless they can get it at the right price that allows it to be sat on the forecourt for 3 months whilst it depreciates further. I know that this always looks like greed on the dealers part however that is the state of the market. Don't forget that Porsche have unprecendented numbers of new physical stock they can't shift and are doing deals on - that will have a bigger affect on all watercooled Porsche soon as it ripples down the line.
I'm not an expert mind, just how I see it.
Yeah, but that's what I meant. If you are simply asking them to buy the car (with no sale), then I'd say that late teens is probably about right, but if you are looking to trade (ie. buy and sell, so the trader has a 0 car gain), then early 20s is about right.
