Whilst it wasn't possible to upgrade the wheels on the C2/C4/C4S/Targa models (at least according to my price list), it was possible to get the calipers painted a different colour (speed yellow for example), using the Porsche exclusive range.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Morning everyone,
I have some time off from work soon and have been thinking of spending some time with the car! I have been thinking for ages about changing the colours of my calipers and would what people thought and there views and recommendations.
I currently have silver ones, i dont know if this is stock and standard, i am guessing so, see pictures. I am thinking there is Red, Yellow or Black or maybe even staying with silver!
The colour of the car midnight blue, so what do people think??? :?:
There was a long thread about 6 months ago on the colour of calipers.
The general consensus was to leave them the standard colour (which is silver (actually titanium-look paint) in your case, denoting a C4 car).
The C4S has Turbo calipers, so these are red and the ceramics are yellow (IIRC standard on GT2 and an upgrade option for Turbo and GT3).
Targa has black, the same as the C2.
Whilst it wasn't possible to upgrade the wheels on the C2/C4/C4S/Targa models (at least according to my price list), it was possible to get the calipers painted a different colour (speed yellow for example), using the Porsche exclusive range.
Posters voiced concern about pretending you've got something you haven't, but I couldn't see that personally.
I very much like blue, but if it were my choice, I'd leave them stock (or maybe yellow!).
Cheers,
GD
They look pretty good as they are. It would be shame to lose the lettering unless you can do that as well.
If you've to do them, why not co-ordinate them with the car or do a contrast picking up a colour somewhere else in the car. It occured to me that white might look good and would send the anoraks into a downward spin :?: but it wouldn't pick up on anything else on the car.
Have fun though and let us know your choice and then post pics for a ragging :thumbs:
Black = Carrera 2
Silver = Carrera 4
Red = Turbo / Turbo Look & GTx
Yellow = Ceramic Brake Option
nothing wrong with repainting, as IMHO the black looks quite dull and nothing finer than red 'Porsche' brake callipers on a 911
Thanks for that Sundeep.
I am thinking possibly Red ones (as i think that is going to be the best colour to complement the midnight blue) or just leaving them as there are! :?
decisions, decisions, decisions..... :? :?
Red's okay as a colour but its more about the different models/brake systems. Personally I think the silver looks better and really complements the alloys.
examples
993 Targa with red painted calipers
but certain colours do suit certain cars

Are you going to paint them yourself or get a specialist? You can get the 'porsche' caliper decal from Highgate House. I got some from there with the intention of doing it one day, then got bored and stuck them on my helmet, that's my
racing
helmet!
mines black (calipers) and is quite modest which i think suits it, not sure if repainting silver will make any difference, red would look daft on my lapis car and yellow - well everyone who knows 911's would frown wouldn't they? ceramic brakes on a C2? I'm sticking to stock colour :thumb:
i'd only change to colour code, but "big pinks" wouldnt really work.. so i stick with red on the "Big Reds" - if you change to anything, i'd just go for the car colour...
Hi everyone,
Thanks for your suggestions. I think i am either going to go with red or maybe better still leave them as they are! If i do decide to paint them, i will post pics of before and after and let you all know. Speaking of which, this reminds me i still need to post my before and after pics and videos of replacing my stock mufflers for muffler bypass pipes. 8)
