Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

16 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 1 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Thanks this is a great site. If you want to continue the Franfurt Show experience play the Lamborghini track. They talk to Luc Donckerwolke , Head of Lamborghini Design in English.

Knowing German wouldn't help you, that is not German.

I'm a bit worried, looks of a tight squeeze when he's getting in the car. I hope to god I can fit in one!

Great video........my observations..... I'd love to hear this in English!.....it hurts so bad no knowing what Walter R. says. The rear wiper still looks horrid IMO. I need to move out of the US to wherever the video was shot......man that must be fun zinging the Cayman over those roads!

He said that the time he did in a Cayman S with 19's and PCCB was 8:11 and 8:04 on a 997 with the same option (presumably C2). Also he said that the beauty of a 911 is the storage. He puts his bike in the back seat whereas you can't do that with the Cayman. Nothing earth shattering or too interesting to be honest. Edited by - WAY on 11/02/2005 08:58:48 AM

Hi! I am swedish and I can tell you the reporter is REALLY thrilled! The reporter is well known in Sweden, especially for testing sportcars and he is at the end appointing the Cayman to 'Sportcar of the year':

<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">As an avid cyclist the comment made in the video about being able to put a bicycle in the back really intrigued me. I’d assumed that there was insufficient room. That makes this choice even more fun. Now the trip to Telluride can include my bike if my spouse can pack all her gear in the front… http://us.rd.yahoo.com/sports/rss/n...rss/nba/SIG=11slt04cs/*http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/recap?gid=2005110124&prov=ap

POST 11Original post

I still think when Rohrl referred to an 8:04 time for a Carrera he was referring to an S. He posted a 7:59 in an S with the sport suspension available in Europe and thought he could do only a few seconds better than that in his best effort in that car. No way a standard Carrera with PASM and PCCBs would have fallen within 5 seconds of the 7:59 time he posted with the S and sports suspension. K Man S - what's this about the Cayman lapping road Atlanta on a second behind a Carrera S? JHellow

POST 12Original post

I think K-Man S said that the Cayman S lapped road atlanta 0.1s slower than a Carrera S! Yeah what's the story with that? I am surprised he hasn't said anything here yet.

POST 13Original post

I didn't want to get into the whole 911 vs. Cayman thing here. I hope to have an update from Atlanta shortly, I'm waiting on someone to send me the pics from their camera but it may have to wait until they return physically. Road Atlanta is a much shorter course than Nurburgring so I would expect the distance to be shorter. Did everyone forget the EVO test where the Boxster S was faster than the base 911 C2 around their track in the UK? Suffice it to say that on any given day the Cayman is going to be competitive with the 911 on certain tracks. 5-10 seconds on Nurburgring isn't a whole lot of difference especially on a track that rewards hp and high speed.

POST 14Original post

Does anyone know how I can save this video (or the French one) on my hard drive? It's very frustrating that everytime I want to watch them I have to use the net.

POST 15Original post

It does sound like Walter is dodging the questions and watching his comments when he compares the 911 and cayman track times. As an owner of both a boxster s and a 997S, I can tell you that the mid-engine car is more intuitive and easier to control. I went racing around some hills last weekend with my cousin driving the Boxster S and needless to say, he was ALWAYS on my 997S's tail at each corner. Now this is an 02 Boxster S w/ 250hp. The new cayman S could potentially out-handle the boxster S and the 997S (I know that sounds likeblasphemy to 911philes)and catch up on the straight aways with the increased hp. One thing is for sure, the Cayman S will be no joke!

POST 16Original post

I hard to make out, but I think he's saying he will always use a 911 because it has more space and he puts his bike in the back seat of the 911...
