Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Help Anyone Please? The option 'Supple Leather front and rear' for $365 What do theyt mean by rear? And does supple still have those small holes in it like the standard. I am not sure If I like the look of those perforations in the seat centers. Thanks Russ

POST 2Original post

I had supple leather (graphite) on my 99 Boxster and it did not wear well despite light use (30K miles in 4 years). Easily creased and marked. It did not have the perforations of the standard leather, but that may have changed in 7 years. I did not order it for the Cayman . Personally I would prefer a leather/alcantara seat option as they have in Europe.

POST 3Original post

I think the 'rear' statement is just a typo......for the Cayman or Boxster it is of course for the front only. To my knowledge supple leather is only available with full leather and regular seats. It is a pretty nice option IMO that makes the interior look richer, but a little less sporty. It does not have thesmall holes and the leather feels REAL nice. <input type="image" height="480" width="640" src="/UserFiles/bf_4.jpg" />

POST 4Original post

Thanks for all the input on those seats. I don't care for the perforations, but I don't like the idea of the supple leathers wear factor and I have seen how wrinkled that kind of leather can get. Russ

POST 5Original post

The supple leather looks good but if you autocross or track the car at all the supple leather lets you slide around more than standard leather.

POST 6Original post

I have supple leather on my current 911 . IMO itfeels better than standardon long trips, but it shows more wear. For what it's worth, I did not order this option on my Cayman .

POST 7Original post

I had supple leather on one of my previous cars........and I don't think it actually wears faster.......it just is softer so it shows more creases and folds over time.......some might see that as more wear and others as the natural beauty of soft leather.
