Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys Have had a few problems with the rear calipers on my 996. I need to get hold of the retaining springs that are kind of on the rear of the caliper. Anyone know where I can get these from or part numbers etc? Also, I have just been using standard rear pads, does anyone use different ones or reccommend some? Thanks Mike

POST 2Original post

Do you mean the spring that holds the pads in place?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

yeah, the one that is held in by the long pin

POST 4Original post

They come as a set - about £30. OPC, or try Euro Car Parts

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

do you have OPC website address? I have found the fitting kit for 28.88 plus vat and the porsche store but want to shop around Can you recommend rear brake pads?

POST 6Original post

OPC = Official Porsche Centre. They don't do parts on-line, but you can phone your local parts department and they will post them to you. For pads, you can't go wrong with Textar pads. Same as original, but without the Porsche box, and a lot cheaper. I'll leave others to comment on Pagid, EBC, ets, as I have never used them.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Can anyone give me any details on the brake lines for the 996 calipers? Do they have a specific connector on the end or are thay just generic lines?
