Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Is there a complete list of things that can be changed somewhere (without reading the whole manual), and how much do the OPC charge for changing things like that?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, Scattered through the manual there are various things that it says the OPC can reprogram about the car on request - eg. ether the car autolocks at a certain speed, how long various things stay on, etc. Is there a complete list of things that can be changed somewhere (without reading the whole manual), and how much do the OPC charge for changing things like that? Also, is it something that Indy's can do? I live in London, but between the OPCs, and not convienient for either to just drop in and ask. Cheers, Steve

POST 2Original post

The diagnostic box cannot be bought - only leased from Porsche for a fairly chunky wedge of cash IIRC. The better independent Porsche specialists have the latest gear, but I don't think all of the smaller ones do. I think how relevant this is depends upon how old your porker is and what you want done. I don't know of a feature list, but if anyone has one I would be curious to see it too.

POST 3Original post

On a 996 you only need the older Porsche PST2 diagnostic unit, and most independents (and some individuals  ) have one of these. It's the latest PIWIS tester which is a bit more scarce amongst the indies. The 997 has more options I believe. As for programming options, there isn't a great deal you can set. Autolocking is one, and relocking time is another. Apart from those, I'm scratching my head to think of what else.
