Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone know if a set of 996 turbo alloys would fit a standard 996 carrera 2 or is there more to it than just bolting them on?

POST 2Original post

Fronts are no problem - they are the same width and offset. Depends which rears they are. Turbo II and Turbo Look II are ET45 offset, so you would need 17mm spacers and long bolts. Sport Technos are ET63 offset so would fit straight on. On a pre-facelift they say you have to roll the rear arches for 11 inch rears. Edit: I think I've got that the wrong way round, and the answer should be no. ET45 wheels will stick out too far. (If you use ET63 on a Turbo you would need spacers). Ooops! Sorry.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks - I need new tyres all round and there's a set of turbo alloys on ebay with almost new tyres on them so I figured it would be a good buy - I guess I'll stick with just buying the new tyres then!!

POST 4Original post

If they are genuine hollow spoke Turbos then you are out of luck, but what people avertise as Turbos sometimes aren't. If it isn't shown on the eBay listing, ask the seller what offsets they are. However, you might still have to roll the rear arches to fit 11" rears on a non-S 996.

POST 5Original post

Ive just put some 11" wide techart wheels on my c2 that were off a wide body car and i had to put the original springs back on as i had fitted h&r lowered springs and they rubbed the arches, no rubbing now though and the fill the arches a treat!!
