Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Performed · outcome unconfirmed · Original poster
Yes it worked for a few weeks after changing the ignition.
Outcome qualification: Negation, uncertainty or missing explicit repair resolution overrides the raw extraction signal.

On initial checking, they couldn't identify which is the problem and asked me to bring the car back again for "detail" check, they said could also be wiring issues?
Leading evidence: 'Replace ignition' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check they couldn't identify' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Have you been able to lock the car with the remote at all since changing the ignition switch?

I recently changed my ignition switch, any relations to that?
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My 2001 C4 wont lock with Key (ntg happens). It locks with remote then unlock itself and horns twice!
The car still auto locks when I drive it. I recently changed my ignition switch, any relations to that? (A thread said car thinks key still in ignition?)
I search other threads but can't find any answer to this besides paying a huge sum of money to change some central console? Porsche center said it's either the locking device in the door or some central control unit. On initial checking, they couldn't identify which is the problem and asked me to bring the car back again for "detail" check, they said could also be wiring issues?
Can someone point me to the right thread or some advise?
Thanks
Does the car lock using the emergency locking procedure described in the drivers handbook? (Turn the key to the locking position and back 3 times in quick succession).
Have you been able to lock the car with the remote at all since changing the ignition switch?
If it has been locking for a while with the new ignition switch fitted, but has suddenly stopped locking, I would suspect one of the microswitches in the door lock assembly. This is a common problem, which can be easily diagnosed by someone with a Porsche System Tester. I suggest you take it to an indy (or OPC) for a diagnostic check.
Yes it worked for a few weeks after changing the ignition. I brought it to the OPC for the diagnostic recently, and that's when their computer could not find out what's the cause. But they think could also be wiring which needs more time to track (being run under the seats). I assume they will also want to look inside the door panels etc.
After searching at more thread, I found a way to lock by pressing remote 2 times! The red LED comes on for a few seconds and a single horn sound. But other then that, it seems to lock ok. Still wondering what's going on. Will try what you suggested later as well. Thanks.
Given up and checked in to OPC, and conclusion was a faulty door lock on the passenger side. Still don't understand why door still locks when I press remote twice but is considered "broken" by OPC. Maybe there's an electronic part in the lock? Any clue?
