Lack of use means I'm thinking of selling my 996 Targa on an 02 plate, with 50K Full OPC + 1 Parr service.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi All,
Lack of use means I'm thinking of selling my 996 Targa on an 02 plate, with 50K Full OPC + 1 Parr service. Its in good condition has the small ally pack and PSM its Silver with Graphite Grey leather and has the 18" Carrera wheels.
Also whats the easiest way to sell it, i'm not in a rush...Top Marques I'm guessing.
Cheers
Mark
If you dont need to sell it dont, the way the market is at the moment you will get peanuts if it sells at all :frustrated:
If you are bored later give 911 Virgin a call and get a trade in price, make sure you are sat down though :floor:
Honestly, I think you'll get about 23-24k for it. You'd get a better deal if you were trading up, as the %age fall is consistent across all values of car.
That's a fair point, but I can never see the price of the 996 rising, so if you aren't trading up, then I can't really see the point of holding on, as you'll just get less money for it.
The only benefit of holding on is that in a better market, it might be easier to sell.
I dont agree there, its not the right time to be selling anything at the moment, and if he tries to sell this car to the trade they will be pulling has pants down big time
Things will pick up, you just have to wait for people to have confidence again 8)
The only people buying at the moment are the ones after a MAJOR bargain, and the OP will just end up either getting very frustrated or selling for far less than the car is worth just to change.
All this is my opinion of course, and I am by no means a finance guru
:floor:
Yes, but the basic principle is that the 996 prices, will never, ever increase, not in a million years. I do agree that selling in a better climate would probably be an easier time to sell, but as I hate selling cars at the best of times, I doubt it will make much difference in the scheme of things.
The only benefit of waiting is that you might get a better trade-in value, but that would be at the detriment of getting a good deal on the 'new' car. In other words, in this sort of market, the cost to change (trade up), will be advantageous to the buyer.
If you are looking to simply get rid, you will get a better price now, than you would in, say 12 months time (irrespective of whether the market has picked up)...it just might take a little longer to sell.
