I would assume the problem would remain if you replaced Meyle or HT arms with the same.

They use CTE LCA out of England with their bushings.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I strongly recommend reading through this thread on the 997 forum. Incorrect suspension bushing tolerances causing subframe tabs to snap off when torquing them down. This appears to be another outgrowth of the overall reduction of quality in automotive parts. "Trust but verify" has become "distrust and always verify"...

I ordered the Meyle kit from FCP euro for the front end and it came with 997 parts. Seems they are interchangeable.
For example, when you select their 996 kits, this is one of the control arms. Scroll down and look at the fitment, fits all 996/997.

Not all MEYLE parts have this issue. Just [phone removed] and 416 050 0005S which are not for the 996.
MEYLE part 4160500028 is OK, not for 996
MEYLE part 4160500029 is OK and interchangeable.
4160500024 seems to be interchangeable but a previous version...
Also, aftermarket part manufacturers say they are interchangeable, but in the Porsche catalogues they have different part numbers, 99634105319 for 996 and 99134105319 for 997/991.
All these come from Autodoc, in any case we should measure the space as proposed...
According to the 997 thread, it looks to be that Meyle arms were out of stock and Hamburg Technic arms were sent instead. If I read it correctly, there is no issue with Meyle arms. It would probably be best to go to the 997 thread to follow along to get the info first hand.
But if you see the shared PDF, it is sent by Meyle headquarters. That thread has two issues uncovered the HT vs MEYLE and also this MEYLE alert. 2 issues relating to the same part but totally unrelated between them

Reposting this from the 997 thread on this topic, hopefully it's helpful for anyone looking for clarity.
I bought the Meyle lower control arms the same month the NHTSA recall letter was released (Mar '25).
All four I received were part# [phone removed] which is the new 991+ style arm pictured below. As
@GC996
said there doesn't seem to be any issue with these newer versions of the arms. I've driven 5k miles on them without issue.
Bradley
Possible but both times it would require to NOT torque the fasteners to spec. If the fasteners were torqued to spec with said arms, the tabs on the subframe would have snapped, which they haven't.
Considering the above, I think its safe to say he hasn't had those too narrow arms fitted at any time.
Those snapped tabs are a feature unique to the 997/987s. Our front subframes differ at the LCA mounting point. I would guess that's why we haven't seen such a catastrophe on a 996 yet.
Still, if the width of the control arm between the subframe tabs is too small, rendering a gap, then also a 996 subframe is at risk of breaking when trying to clamp the bushing by tightening. It should not be tried. Instead the a correctly fitting control arm is required.
^^^Yep
Problem is that availability of control arms is low, and many of the vendors havent upgraded pictures, part numbers and manufacturer. Not to mention the customer service folks have no idea whats going on. Parts are being substituted. Make sure you can return whatever was sent you. Been hunting for control arms for 6 months and its a freaking mess. Stay on top of it because when new shipments arrive, they are gone in a flash and then you are back to substitutions.
I haven't heard anything good. But plenty of HT parts available.
Still working on sourcing the coffin style 996 LCA. Eurosport is working on sourcing the Porsche Factory LCAs and I am working on a viable after market LCAs. Have you heard anything about the Powerflex LCA. They use CTE LCA out of England with their bushings. Dont know a thing about them.
Many of the OEM providers like TRW and others sold out and got out of the business. Much of the manufacturing has moved to China. Dont know if it as much tariff related as it is pandemic related. Meyle is still selling arms. But manufacturing has shifted to China and a lessor extent Turkey.
