Hi, I have the 'loud" Toogear exhausts with 200 cell x-pipes.....the exhaust is loud, but not as loud IMO as the Designtek switchable system that a friend has & he's running standard cats.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello, Hope everybody is having a nice peaceful weekend. I am deciding on a sports exhaust setup for my 996.2. I am looking for something that wont break the bank and will be loud, (my 997 is straight piped). So my thoughts are; - topgear sport mufflers - topgear 200 cell x pipe cats Now in terms of the tips, I am really not a big fan of the stock semi oval look of the 996.2 and I am absolutely in love with the 996.1 tequipment ovals, in the attached image. My questions; - thoughs on the topgear setup? - the tips are intended for the 996.1, any tip recommendation for the 996.2? Have a nice evening, Dick

For reference my exhaust and the look I am going for

POST 3Original post

I had topgear Valvetronic boxes with 200 cell cats on my 996 2, good bang for your buck and nice sound, as for tips the oval one gets my vote 🤘 Nice quality products

Hi, I have the 'loud" Toogear exhausts with 200 cell x-pipes.....the exhaust is loud, but not as loud IMO as the Designtek switchable system that a friend has & he's running standard cats. If you want more volume & want to stick with Topgear, it might be worth looking at the 100 cell Topgear cats as the lower the cell number, the greater the airflow/noise I understand. My setup has a GT3 type sound as you increase the revs IMO & does burble/pop a bit on the overrun when slowing down when driving in a 'spirited" manner. There is a forum discount for both Topgear & Design911 stuff although Topgear do occasionally also offer a group-buy discount if there is sufficient interest.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xhnL4tepsk0 Hi there, thanks for your reply. I checked the video above and your video, awesome sound BTW, are you sure it was louder? Maybe its the recording but it seems quite tame. Thanks!
