Suggestion
Thinking about it wouldn’t the road going GT1 fall into this list and maybe the 964 4 lightweight, didn’t it have the 964rs engine but 4x4 running gear???

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
34 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Porsche got a hard time for the overs market in recent years and the difficulty in getting an allocation, but there's no doubting they upped production massively to meet demand - of the regular GT3 and RS models at least.
Certainly puts in to context what you could call rare and what isn’t. 15k 992gt3 that’s a lot and I personally don’t think the market is big enough for that number of cars!

Could the 992.2 gt3 be built in lower numbers than the 992.2 gt3!
Porsche will have to churn them out largely irrespective of demand.
You’re probably correct, Porsche appears to be all about ramping up new car production numbers nowadays.

Looking at the data it all changed after the 997.

No 993 GT figures , the Daddy of all GT Cars
Thanks, 173 ... I'll put that in on the next batch.
Regarding numbers 991 v. 992 ... 991 will be higher because we have yet to see 992.2 but 992 so far incudes Covid ...

1998 993GT evo 20 cars
Thanks, there's also the 964 3.8RS and other very limited models ... 964RS N-GT numbers aren't I think included in the 964RS because they had a different vin number series (unlike the 993RS N-GT (Clubsport) ... should I add these ?

Yep VW acquired the rest of Porsche in 2012, and then dieselgate in 2015… All adds to the cranking out the cash cows
Herewith ... North American 981 GT4's totalled 2350 and UK 569 ... I can't find NA numbers for 718 but UK are 660 manual and 540 PDK ... hence I think the total numbers detailed are fairly safe, but feel free anybody to tell me more ...
Astonishing ...
Apologies for the mistake ... I have put in the 981 GT4 number twice ... the manual 982 GT4 should be based on 660 in the UK ... but the Worldwide number is probably correct ...

Why no Cayman R?

Really interesting and good work
Maybe it’s just me but if I’m understanding correctly there does not seem to be many UK registered 981 and 718 GT4’s or maybe that’s just my incorrect view

Why no Cayman R?
Because Total 911 didn't include the Cayman in their car summary (which was of just 911's showing all their vital statistics including annual production (up until recently when they showed only UK numbers which are possibly more reliably found at How Many Left)) ... and if the Cayman R is included, then all Spyder, then GTS ... ??
Also, the R from 2011 was before the numbers really started to change, before we started to have trouble buying new cars (the merry-go-round which is now not so merry due to the hangover) ... and that is really what this information is trying to show. Why ...
It's also of all the cars that are defined GT cars ... GT2 / GT2 / GT3 and the cars that shared this engine as specials. So I guess it should ultimately include the 992.2 GT3 Touring even if it may have back seats ... and maybe this shows how good Porsche have been at segmenting their market.

The UK numbers are included and for the 718 formed the basis of the total since I only had North American numbers for the 981 GT4 ... see above.
How many Left say for the UK ... 981 GT4 569 / 982 GT4 Manual 660 / 982 GT4 PDK 540 .... 982 is the 718 model, 981 is the original Cayman.
Again on the Cayman R, I loved mine and did many track days in it before I got my 981 GT4 and before OPC Leeds decided that they wouldn't sell me any more new "GT" cars ... my R replaced a 964RS NGT
Because I love the older cars most have been bought secondhand ... of the above I have owned ... 964RS RHD metallic coral red , 964RS LHD red, 964RS NGT LHD maritime blue (Ulrich Richters), 993RS red (the development car), 996.1 GT3 CS Zanzibar red, 996.1 GT3 CS silver (twice), 996.2 GT3 yellow, 996.2GT3RS white/red, 997.1 GT3 metallic blue, 981 GT4 yellow ... and now my 991.2 GT3RS.

Tidied ...
Thanks, if I’m readying those figures correctly and not including the SRS there have been over 100 thousand Porsche GT cars manufactured world wide.
That’s pretty impressive numbers and far higher than I imagine.
Given that three quarters of them were sold in the last 10 years ... and the OPC warranty can be kept up to 15 years ...
That gives the market an awful lot of choice ...
And then the worry is that on the scale of ICE cars the latest are no better than the later cars, for a lot more money ... which is why the new GT3 Touring is so close to an ST ??

It just gets very complicated for numbers that do not influence the market ...
The GT1 was designed in 993 and built in 996 variants etc etc ... the 964 4 was a bitsa ?

Agree these two cars are very rare, but they are still old production GT cars allowed on the road.
