POST 1Original post

Bizarre. Guards red was an option cost extra on the 991.1 GT3 RS too.

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've just specced my ideal new car ... I wanted to minimise unsprung mass to enable the suspension to work as well as possible ... I had to accept Weissach, selected Clubsport but then couldn't select five point belts also for the passenger without losing the magnesium wheels (and Weissach which I didn't want). I am guessing this is a glitch ... However, only black or white as standard colours ? Blue, Red and a couple of others for £1700 extra ... or PTS at over £10k ?? Herewith my choice : https://porsche-code.com/PSSIM447 ..... £213k with the first registration charge ? P.S. Does the pale yellow look slightly dirty to others ? POST 4Original post

As I said on the other thread, 3 options checked and I was over 200k. i’m not in the market anyway, so good luck with the new car pricing!

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm not in the market either .... but this must help the residuals of all those legacy vehicles

POST 6Original post

Rear seats and folding buckets.... thats a surprise. Mind, my dealer advised they wouldn't sell me one as too many more deserving types.

POST 7Original post

If you can get an allocation then c£165k gets you a nice spec Touring, without all the internet 'must-have' nonsense... https://porsche-code.com/PS4QX9D9

POST 8Original post

my 2022 car which I paid £163k for in Feb and at the time of 2024 would cost £171k to spec now costs £182k like for like https://porsche-code.com/PS6A5NN5

POST 9Original post

I'd like this as my daily... bit pricey though https://porsche-code.com/PSXL2RC0

POST 10Original post

Chrono now c £1500! PCCB with black calipers now c £10k!

POST 12Original post

Well this is a bit of lunchtime fun, quickly topping 220k specced with the goodies which is silly money but then they'll easily sell at that and more. Touring lightweight in grown up spec: https://porsche-code.com/PS6URXB5 Weissach in fun spec (controversially always loved mint green and looks much better in person than on config): https://porsche-code.com/PS6FZ5G8

POST 13Original post

£5k for buckets... that look like rebolstered VW/Audi wingbacks having a giraffe!!

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

kmpowell said: If you can get an allocation then c£165k gets you a nice spec Touring, without all the internet 'must-have' nonsense... https://porsche-code.com/PS4QX9D9 I agree that's a very useable "daily spec" ... it's certainly the kind of spec I would go for if I had a separate trackday car ... but then I'd probably choose something rather more practical as my daily. I would have gone for mag wheels without Wessach, but that wasn't an option. I priced in the PCCB's because I'd put Surface Transforms on it ... there isn't so much more spec than that on my proposed spec ... I wonder if those who are "lucky" enough to get an allocation would be allowed to spec in this way ? Edited by ChrisW. on Monday 2nd December 14:05

POST 20Original post

The configurator is great fun. Here is my first stab at it. £185k OTR. I could easily shave off £5k from that if needed. It is nice that Oak Green has moved onto the more standard colour pallet. I know this is not everyone's cup of tea for a GT3, but that is how I would do it given the opportunity. Pretty happy with my very similar spec GTS however, so not sure I'll demean myself by asking the OPC. https://porsche-code.com/PSU4ZPP8

POST 21Original post

Had a number of GT3s, but never been on "the list". Understand it. But with literally 0 upgrades on 992.1 and now 200k for a GT3 I would pass if offered a build slot. Its just too expensive now for what it is.

Its just too expensive now for what it is. In Portugal a well specced example will be hitting EUR350k (275k w/o options) partly due to the wild taxes for non-hybrid performance cars. UK remains a pretty good value place for ownership of these, but still crazy prices.

Note that Oak Green Neo (legends) is quite different from the existing PTS Oak green. There's a specific thread on RennL in the 992 GT3 forum where samples are compared. Guards Red now a £1700 "Dream" My notional build £185k, allocation a possibility but hard to justify financially - I'd have to sell the 992.1 GT3 and the R8 for the privilege of speccing a 992.2. Options are mainly Gulf orange, PCCB, axle lift and contrast stitch.

POST 31Original post

No it’s black interior with Cognac stitching. The crayon you are seeing is highlighting the stitch colour not the leather colour. 3D configurator shows interior perfectly. Yes have seen the differences in Oak Green Neo paint, really like it Edited by maura on Monday 2nd December 22:57

s2000db said: Ellsworth said: The lightweight package on the Touring looks like dreadful value. It is, but you’ve got to offset the weight of the rear seats.. lol. Touring Lightweight package includes the Mag wheels which are not included in the Weissach pack - they will add £13759.00 to a Weissach GT3 on top of the £19.5k (w/ rollcage) or £15.5k (w/o rollcage). So in the end a magnesium wheeled Weissach car and a touring lightweight spec are similar prices. Both huge costs on an already high base but similar once all is said and done.

POST 37Original post

I’m struggling with this ..if I want two tone leather interior on a standard carrera it’s £513 , if I want two tone leather interior on gt3 I have to buy the leather interior exclusive for a measly £10525 ?

POST 38Original post

If you click on your internal material option (the 2nd or 3rd part of the form) you have set the seat colour to crayon. The configurator pics don’t show the colour change as it’s not set up to do that, but if you take your code to Porsche with no questions asked, you are taking delivery of Crayon leather with Cognac stitching.

That's understood but that say £14k after the mag wheels for a carbon roof, carbon seats, some carbon door handles and some carbon bits in the suspension. Even by Porsche standards that seems OTT. To be fair to Porsche, they are not forcing anyone to tick that box so you pays your money and take your choice.

Colour pallet: Nuttcase said: Note that Oak Green Neo (legends) is quite different from the existing PTS Oak green. There's a specific thread on RennL in the 992 GT3 forum where samples are compared. Yup, thank you for pointing that out. My father had an Oak Green Golf GTI 16V which looked incredible back in the day. I think that the old PTS colour was based on this VW paint. The Neo seems a bit darker, doesn't it? If money were no object I would probably go for ultra deep green PTS Dark Olive Metallic, which I've seen with Cognac seats on a 992 Sport Classic and looked wonderful. But seeing as PTS Oak Green Neo is so close I'd be happy to compromise with that. On pricing: While we are - most of us including me - complaining about the cost inflation of these cars, France has just announced an additional CO2 tax on first registration of such cars. And additional €50,000 tax increasing to €70,000 in two years time. In South East Asia where such massive taxes are applied to luxury cars you still see a far few being driven around. I suppose we will just have to pay it to drive such cars in Western Europe. It is sad that legislators are killing some of the incentive for people to aspire to achieve in life - at least in their home countries. I think these escalating taxes on literally everything will drive more talented people overseas to countries that embrace success.

It's supply and demand Rodney. they were quite a bit cheaper than in other European countries (ignoring taxes) for quite a while - Germany being the best example as both just have 20ish % VAT, so yes Porsches in general were underpriced in the UK on a relative basis. UK dealers did not even want to take LHD orders ("your are just trying to get the car cheaper" - yeah no s t man)
