Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

My issue is strictly with the drivers side air vent.
Leading evidence: 'strictly' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). The plastic ball broke off so I just drilled a hole where the ball was used some thin gauge wire to reconnect the 2 pieces together.

I had a similar issue happen when I was replacing my headlight switch.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My air vent on the drivers side is toast. The louvers are loose and will fall out when the air flow position is changed.
Is there any method to repair it from the interior?
Or must I find a replacement and remove the dash to install it.
It's really annoying and a cosmetic disaster.
You might be able to repair it but you have to remove it to get behind the louvers. Or, you could buy a new one, or used. New one -

I had a similar issue happen when I was replacing my headlight switch. There is a plastic ball that pops into that round donut looking hole. The plastic ball broke off so I just drilled a hole where the ball was used some thin gauge wire to reconnect the 2 pieces together. I wasn't too concerned with how it looks since you won't see it once you get the side vent installed. The ghetto fix works perfectly.
My issue is strictly with the drivers side air vent. I did find the part although pricing is high.
Most ridiculous price ? $775.08 from rosepassion.com for the available part ,99655222505D05 and of course another identical part they list for $152 is no longer available.
It looks like autoatlanta has the only reasonably priced part

I got the same part from eBay (specializedgerman) for $105.00 because my original vent's vane control was broken. The part wasn't perfect but it was in better condition than my original. The vendor is legit.
