Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, after a forum search I'm still none the wiser. My local OPC has confirmed today that the MO30 kit has been discontinued, so I'm after recommendations for upgrading the suspension on my '02 C2. Ideally with less of an arch gap than stock. Thanks

POST 2Original post

I got one of the full M030 kits from Design911 (I think) or maybe Porscheshop prob 2 years ago. In hindsight I wish I'd researched a bit more as I find it a bit harsh on UK B roads. The damper design is quite old now. You'd do well following the popular T6 route of H&R lowered springs and Koni special active dampers You still enjoying it? Ian

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello Ian. Yes, massively so. I've got a couple of little issues to sort, I think the coolant expansion tank has a small leak and there's an annoying suspension(?) clunk after the car has been driven for a few miles. Other than that I just want to sort the ride height and stance, but it's a bit of a minefield with all the different upgrade kits on the market.

POST 4Original post

Simple answer: just give Center Gravity a call with your requirements. They are the experts on this topic. I know from personal experience. I had M030 and hated it, far too firm for UK roads. I didn't want safari look of standard set up. CG know all the options in between. :thumb:

POST 5Original post

I can second that recommendation for Centre Gravity. Super friendly and helpful - give them a call, nothing to loose. :thumb: Getting your suspension sorted will transform how your car feels and thus your enjoyment too.

POST 6Original post

1. Talk to CG 2. Don't go any higher than standard spring rates

POST 7Original post

If you are looking for standard spring rates / damping with less wheel arch gap (as opposed to firm / track-style) then ask CG about their new Center Gravity Touring setup for the 996. Chris has recently been using my C2 as test mule alongside their C4S development car. Just mention "Toby & his blue 996 C2" as it's not publicly advertised yet. Might help you with another option.

POST 8Original post

You can buy m030 dampers direct from bilstein who are the oe supplier from the usual online sources should you choose to go that way. I think the springs are still available from Porsche? It's firm but not ridiculous imo and also works very nicely on track with h&r anti roll bars. I would like to try some koni special active shocks to compare with the m030 setup but I'm very happy with what I've got.

POST 9Original post

I switched my M030 dampers for Koni actives and damping was significantly improved. Set up by CG. However for my roads the M030 springs were still too firm. Suspension is very subjective. Different people, different preferences.

POST 10Original post

I too recently went to CG with my car. Was a full M030 spec and in the end we went for Koni Special Actives, standard springs, M030 ARBs and an aggressive geo. Works really well on road - the M030 set up was beyond crap IMO.

POST 12Original post

Agreed it's very subjective - just sharing my experience. I'm fairly used to stiffly sprung cars.
