Curious if anyone has used the MANN HU7195X filters on their 987.2 ? I was on RockAuto shopping for some oil filters, and these are like less than half the price of the Mahle OX366D. ($9 versus the $21 in Canadian dollars) Is there a reason to stay away from them? I change the oil so frequently (ever 2 track weekends -- so basically 3 times a year) this would be a welcome cost saving. Just curious if anyone uses them.

@uniquenamehere - It's not quite a direct answer, but I'm pretty sure that whatever filters works for the 981 will also work for the 987.2 (unsurprisingly so as they're both 9A1 engines), so that might open your options a bit. Generally speaking, I've gone with both Mann and Mahle over the years for all sorts of air/oil filters and I think you'd be just fine as long as the fit is correct. Both are OE manufacturers for all sorts of German makes (including BMW, Mercedes, etc.). Now if you said something like a cheap STP filter (which is likely not available for our 987.2s), I'd say skip it. Again, I think you'd be just fine -- especially given you do changes so frequently. Just my two cents.

If you buy from FCP they have lifetime free replacement, I would consider buying all your consumable parts from them, I track my car and have sent back several sets of brake pads.

It isn't unknown for some Asian entrepreneurs to create "reproduction" things like filters (and spark plugs and HID bulbs..) If it seems too good to be true.... I'd want to see one side by side with one from someplace like FCPEuro ....
