Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I was a little downhearted to find only E10 available at the local filling station.

I do so little mileage across all my petrol toys, that I try to use the Esso Synergy + Super which, even though marked as E5, has zero Ethanol.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I was a little downhearted to find only E10 available at the local filling station. Obviously, all pre-2010 cars have been identified as potentially being at risk of degradation of fuel system...
Government website says 996 are good for it.

Not just the GOV website confirming 996s OK with E10, but also Official Porsche website.
If you want to use E10, it should be OK!

My fuel of choice... annoyingly I folded and got a tank of Essar 99 from my local station on the basis it had stock and Esso did not. I shall have to make an effort and use it quickly!
Biggest difference I've found is V Power Diesel in my Merc daily vs normal. 10% worse fuel consumption at least on the normal stuff.
E5 and E10 is only really an issue if it's allowed to sit in the tank. It attracts water when it goes off and somehow this can erode fuel system parts, such as ally fuel taps on motorcycles.

Esso explain on their website, that there is no lower marking than E5 (up to 5%), so even though their Synergy + fuel is 0% everywhere but parts of the West country, they still have to display E5.
Anyone worried, could also carry some additive like Briggs &n Stratton Fuel Fit, which keeps Ethanol based fule stable for long periods of time.
Like the green government and Porsche want you keeping your 20 year old car on the road for decades and not buying a shiny new electric lone. LOL!
:floor:
Two of five petrol stations I visited last night had zero fuel, one of the three with fuel has super unleaded (but no normal unleaded), so I could fill up.
Very much not back to normal.
