I've recently resolved an issue with my roof stopping half way, so using PIWIS 2, I know them inside out now.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

:?: Hi guys, need a little advice, just bought this 2000 911 C4 S , it was cheap so i knew i would have a few things to sort out. When i viewed the car roof worked fine, however after the 300 miles drive home roof no longer worked and light on dash says engine lid open? I checked the micro switch on the lock and its unplugged so no idea how the roof was working, i bridged the switch and still says lid is open? When you open/close the doors the drivers window lowers and lifts again as it should , the passenger window drops as soon as you unlock the car and stays there until you lock it again? The door lock button on the dash doesn't work, the heated rear window comes on when the drivers window hits top or bottom position? Diag says 2 fault codes , roof function inactive as end position not reached, other fault states 49 k line short circuit to ground on alarm. Cant help but think all these issues are related but im a mechanic so auto electrics are not my strong point. any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks .. Jay
Sorry I can't help but I have modified your thread title to give a bit more of a heads up to those that might be able to.
ps. jfyi Your car is a C4 not a C4S. If it's an auto it may be in your logbook as a C4 Tiptronic S.
Start by resolving the engine bay lid, as it's a pre-requisite for the roof, as the clamshell would hit it if not closed.
Are you sure it's engine lid and not the spoiler red light on the dash? These come on every time you start the car to confirm the light works, but should then go out as you drive off over 3mph or so. It then should only come back on if the spoiler fails to deploy at 75mph or whatever it is.

Yes 997 wings and headlights GT Aero bumpers , skirts and deck lid. Martini stripe kit was badly fitted so i've removed it and ordered a decent kit to put on so should look better then, new fuel flap hinge and rear brake light ordered too.
