Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Second, looks like even if it's a relatively new car, (< 1yr & <5k miles), I'll need to have a smog check done?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I've seen a very detailed thread on smog checks, but first have simple question. I'm looking at purchasing an out of state (non California) car and brining it in to CA. Does the 2007 CS meet the California requirements? Second, looks like even if it's a relatively new car, (< 1yr & <5k miles), I'll need to have a smog check done? Thanks for the help.. looking forward to getting my CS, but trying to avoid any surprises with the CA DMV!

POST 2Original post

All Porsches are 50-state emissions compliant - you shouldn't have any trouble getting it smogged, unless something is drastically out of tune. AFAIK, all incoming cars that have been registered in another state, need an emissions test before you can register them in CA. If it has never been previously registered, and you have an MSO (Manufacturers Statement of Origin) you might not need one - I would suggest you read through the DMV Website carefully - its all explained there. brad
