Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi All, Warranty expired 3 weeks ago and now my drivers side window isn't working! It made a clunk noise as I went to wind it down and stopped about 6cm open. I can hear the motor whirring but the window isn't moving. I managed to pull the glass up manually so I can lock the car. Maybe it has just come off the runners or something? Any advice appreciated. Thanks Vron

POST 2Original post

It sounds very much like the window regulator - that's the cable and track assembly. It's quite common. They are £107+VAT and a bit less than 2 hours to change.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the replies. Is the airbag in the door a problem if I get it fixed myself?

POST 4Original post

If you disconnect the battery before you start (remembering to leave the ignition switch on) then you should be OK. As long as you don't put power on the system with the airbag disconnected than the airbag light shouldn't come on. If it does, then you would need to get it reset by an indy or OPC.
