They are actually owned by Continental and use a very similar, if not the same rubber compound.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

It depends on your local driving conditions and your driving preferences/style. Most folks will suggest some version of Michelin Pilot Sports, always a good choice. I have Continental Extreme Contact Sports on my 981 Boxster....10,000 miles and one track day, and the fronts are in excellent shape and the rears will likely go another 5,000. They are consistent in the dry here in the mountains, and wet performance is very reassuring. Will likely go to these on my 996 C2 when current Michelin PSs are gone.
+996 on the extreme contacts. Have had them about 5 years and getting ready to replace them with another set. Quiet (when new anyway) and predictable on dry and wet
General G-Max high performance summer tires!!
Two years ago, I considered selling my 03 C4S. I bought these inexpensive but highly rated tires. I decided to keep the car, and I love the tires. They're an under-the-radar treasure. Check out the test results at Tire Rack.
I'll second General G-Max RS tires. They are actually owned by Continental and use a very similar, if not the same rubber compound. It just depends which mold it goes into. I liked their grip a lot. That said, after getting PS4S on my car, the one big difference I saw was in ride quality. Generals were harsher riding in my case. I'm on Ohlins. Ride quality was the first thing I felt improve with the new Michelins.
What is the difference between Continental Extreme Contact Sports and Continental Extreme Contact DWS06?
Edited: Ah, never mind DWS06 are all seasons Contact Sports are summer only.
Im installing Falken FK510s next week. My buddy has them on his BGTS and his Spyder, plus he instructs for PCNA and does a lot of track driving and instructing. He absolutely loves them so I figured that Id give them a go.
I love the Carrera classic wheels. I have them on my C2 and they are coming on my C2S.
But for what it's worth, I want the Manthey lightweight wheels and would be willing to sell/trade my new/unused Classics when the C2S is delivered in May
