Next RMA auction probably the best place to achieve numbers like that.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
55 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.
0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Finally got round to getting the RS family together for a photo. Thanks to Dan who's a total car and photography enthusiast.
Very nice. If you could only have one which would it be?
Thanks for the comments guys, being a luddite, I can't quote and respond to more than one at at time!
But, which is best? I prefer the 3.8 because of the extra grunt, colour and presence it has over a 7.1, and because it has PSM (yes I know I'm a girl, but there are times when it increases your confidence in the car even if it's not needed). Other than those things, the 7.1 is not that different. The 6 still has a lot of similarities, but is also more different to the 7s. It is quieter, not as quick, has quicker steering, no driver aids and feels smaller.
Re do I have other cars, yes, other Porsches and other marques - thankfully I'm not a total Porschephile.

Nice.
So which one do you think will hit £220k 1st?
Wow, there's a question. I genuinely don't know which has the best investment potential.
The 6 is obviously the first RS, and the last of the "no electronic intervention" cars so should be a good bet, but has remained relatively docile so far. Being blue gives it an even better chance I think.
The 7.1 generally shouldn't be as good as a 7.2 or a 6, but being green it may well be.
The 7.2 has to be a good bet as the last manual and Metzger car (4.0 aside which is already a great investment), and being PTS should also help.
Who knows?? Maybe we need some stochastic modelling.
In the meantime, I'll just enjoy driving and polishing them

.. high mileage then
I don't want another discussion/argument with you!
The religion of money - low mileage ( 964 was 12k) = high value.

If it's blue and red I'm interested :-)
Ha ha. I was just baiting Mermaid, but he didn't bite.. If I had one, I'd keep it!
Anyway someone's pitching their blue and gold against your Spider-Man on another post.
The problem is you'll always be outnumbered by owners in the blue/red or blue/gold preference
On another topic, I just spotted this...

Wow that is crazy! But gorgeous.
Is there only 1 Spider-Man in the UK? I should have kept it! I've seen both the gold and spider side by side and spider is definitely the one. The blue gold just looks dull to me, but vive la difference.

I think it has to be - £89k perhaps? - if not the market really has moved on!
I would say there is no chance of it being 89. If it is, someone's going to get a bargain. 189 is equally mesmerising.

In all honesty that car is worth (as in would probably sell for today) about 100k
That seems right till one considers that if the RMA 964RS had been offered on PH's, most would have valued it at a £100k less than what it sold for. The guide price was quite a bit less.
Uncharted territory.
i predict that by the summer of 2015 the values will be :
996 RS - £200,000 (additional £50,000 if it has blue wheels, belts and stickers)
997 RS1 - £175,000 (additional £75,000 if painted green)
997 RS2 - £200,000
4.0 RS - £400,000
and not a single one being seen near the 'ring or used on a track any more, just for polishing and showing off.
Porsche are now a mass producer of SUV's with a bit of sports car racing and manufacture on the side to boast the brand in Europe and the states.
not sure if i am joking or not...but it's bloody sad and not for the best.
hopefully this bubble bursts pronto.

Rates aren't going to rocket up anytime soon and the housing mkt is still v buoyant. Until that changes nothing will change

If i had a few of these cars, I'd want to hedge my bets and sell some of those now.

That's a very fair point. But then it depends on why someone owns these. I am not tempted to sell any of mine, maybe in a year I'll look back and think, you idiot.

Errr not a single one apart from your 996 RS at Spa eh? Good for you. Id happily let mine go for considerably less than your 2015 summer estimate but lest hope you're right

you misunderstood my post, i said by the summer of 2015 and the prices were in jest and entirely tongue in cheek. i'm not bothered either way because i'll still rag the s
t out of mine on the track, as thats what the car was designed for, and there is nothing i'd rather own to replace it with bar a Lexus LF-A nurburgring edition which is in a rather different price bracket, sadly.

Sorry my comment was also supposed to be a bit tongue in cheek but poor delivery, story of my life

Great article, good deal of realism in there too......
Agreed. But when it has gone up another 50k, 100k will he then sell and to hell with the soul .
