Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion · Original poster

Assume it's not rocket science, but useful to know if there's a special way of handling the discs/resetting the pistons.

Suggestion

On the rears you need to unbolt the caliper and hang to the side - slightly tricky - then in theory you need to use new bolts for refitting.

Suggestion

On the 997 GT3 the fronts are straightforward, remember to use the hub guide pins to remove and re-fit the wheels though.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone got a handy guide as to how this is done? Assume it's not rocket science, but useful to know if there's a special way of handling the discs/resetting the pistons. Cheers.

POST 2Original post

On the 997 GT3 the fronts are straightforward, remember to use the hub guide pins to remove and re-fit the wheels though. You can usually just push on the top of the pads sideways firmly and this should move the pistons back, before you remove them. On the rears you need to unbolt the caliper and hang to the side - slightly tricky - then in theory you need to use new bolts for refitting. You're best to buy new pad sensors from an OPC, getting the old ones off the old pads without breaking them is very tricky. If I was at home I could post a few pics, unfortunatley I'm not. Good luck.

Cheers Sandy. Sounds pretty straightforward then. I just brick it at the slightest glimpse of these damn PCCBs
