Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

I just replaced a dead battery my '06S. The homelink memory got wiped out. I tried reprogramming the homelink by holding down the homelink button for 20 seconds, but the LED never lights up. I actually held it down for 60 seconds and still nothing happens. The ignition is on, as the manual said to have ignition switch on. I've also held down button 1 and 3 to clear all memory, still nothing happens, no LED indicator flashes. Any tips?

POST 2Original post

I have found homelink to be a 2 step process in any of my cars with my chamberlain garage door openers. 1st the opener remote then 2nd the button on the opener itself hope that helps

POST 3Original post

In my experience with other homelink systems, try holding down buttons 1 and 3 together for about 30 seconds until there is a faster/different LED flashing. That is to clear the memory for 3 and then they can be programmed again.

POST 5Original post

I wasn't able to find a fuse for the homelink.

POST 6Original post

If your heated seats are also not working, you might need the dealer to do a handover reset. See Is there an acccessory fuse for Homelink and the Heated Seats?? - 986 Forum - for Porsche Boxster & Cayman Owners and https://www.renntech.org/topic/49827-homelink-led-not-working/ . I just had some body work done, requiring a battery disconnect, and my homelink also does not light but my heated seats are working. If you find the fuse, please post. I can't find it either. You might get some hints from this web site: https://homelink.com/home/welcome . It helped me.

POST 8Original post

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. Sorry to get back to you so late but I only got the car back last week. It turns out that the wiring harness to the control module was disconnected during the removal/replacement of the front bumper. Diagnosed by my indy mechanic and fixed by the body shop. The good news is it's now working and it didn't even need to be reprogrammed. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk
