I definitely plan to replace the CDR24 with something that has bluetooth, and maybe add a backup camera.

At this point, though, I'm leaning more towards just replacing the door speaker with a coax, along with a better dash tweeter and new head unit.

I've been unimpressed with my 07 Base Cayman's audio system since I got the car about 5 years ago. Since I am not one to move quickly, I'm still trying to figure out exactly what to do. I definitely plan to replace the CDR24 with something that has bluetooth, and maybe add a backup camera. Then there are the speakers. My car has the most basic system - a single large speaker in the door and a tweeter on the dash - no midrange in the door, no rear speakers, no center speaker. I've read a couple threads by other owners wanting to add midranges, but the threads have ended before that happens. Does anyone know what it would take to add them? The door panel looks pretty solid where they normally go, so I fear I'd have to do something a bit more serious than just mounting them. Any help?

Contact Crutchfield [phone removed] or website for an 07 they should have it all worked out they also have recommended installers on their site I just had an Alpine unit installed with all the things you want. It also made the speakers sound better so I didn't do anything with them but I had Bose so you probably need something more in speakers/etc.

Thanks - good suggestion. Looks like there is a different panel on my door (solid vs perforated) that would need to be modified or replaced, so maybe Crutchfield knows of a good method. At this point, though, I'm leaning more towards just replacing the door speaker with a coax, along with a better dash tweeter and new head unit.
