This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

If it's just using left and right RCA, then it's probably only telling the amp a basic 2 channel output that would be front speakers only.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I replaced my PCM with Bose with a Kenwood head unit that does CarPlay and Android Auto . The rear speakers don't seem to work. I thought the Kenwood had a pre-amp out that connected to the Bose amp and subwoofer. Shouldn't the Bose amp power all speakers in the car? I can fade left/right but not front/rear. I'm not sure the front center speaker works either, but it's kinda hard to put my ear up there to isolate just that speaker.

POST 2Original post

It really depends on whatever adapter is being used to talk to the amp via MOST. If it's just using left and right RCA, then it's probably only telling the amp a basic 2 channel output that would be front speakers only.

POST 3Original post

Interesting, thanks. I had no idea there were more than one kind of adapter. Is it possible to switch adapters and get the rear speakers working? This one claims to retain all speakers, and it only seems to have two RCA cables. https://avinusa.com/most-fiber-optic-amp-interface-for-porsche-cayenne-cayman-boxster.html
