FYI - the extra ground wire is present under the seat and connected to the post along with the factory wires so someone did the mod in the past and the vehicle owner says he has already had the buckle replaced multiple times.

Then there is the update (same TSB number) on 10/11/2002 which specifically states not to do the repair kit procedure from 1999.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello all (especially those with the same question). Our shop just put in the membership fee here, hoping the TSB access would be helpful. What I found was the exact same list of bulletins that are publicly available on the NHTSA website. I know bulletins are copyrighted and Porsche will keep them close for various reasons but I believe the law requires safety-related things to be public. Also not published is what happens to the system with the warning light on and a fault for driver buckle resistance in the case of an accident. We have a 2003 C4 here with the buckle fault and warning light. The fault clears and does not immediately come back so I am thinking the problem still involves high resistance in the circuit. I was a dealer tech when the original 6924 bulletin came out so I have some experience with this bulletin and have the bulletin books. The first "fix" was published 10/8/1999 and involves the wiring harness modification. Then there is the update (same TSB number) on 10/11/2002 which specifically states not to do the repair kit procedure from 1999. I am aware of another update (still same TSB number) from 7/21/2004 but can't find it anywhere, including NHTSA. Is this not safety related? So I am back to my question in the thread title. Does anyone know where to find this last update? Perhaps there could be a PM solution, or maybe someone with access to all 3 variations of the bulletin could provide some clarity. FYI - the extra ground wire is present under the seat and connected to the post along with the factory wires so someone did the mod in the past and the vehicle owner says he has already had the buckle replaced multiple times. As they say on talk radio.........."long time listener, first time caller".
