Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I had a busy week this week, I installed a K&N drop in filter (new for $30 on eBay), de-snorked and finally got my iPod attached to my CDR24 with Bose.

It installed pretty quickly, and after years of using a wireless modulator, I really like this piece of equipment and it sounds really good.

Suggestion
On my old Ipod 'hookup', if I was done using the iPod and paused it, it would just start playing again next time I started the car.

They only have it set up now to email them and use paypal but they were very receptive of all my questions.

Suggestion
It is a wired FM modulator that uses RDS to display song names on your stereo an instrument cluster.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I wrote up an article and posted it in the electronics sections. Only I couldn't figure out how to post all the pics I took.
A slight side concern is that my surround system seems to be fading in and out (as in it sounds like the surround sound goes on and off) so I may have to take the car in. (this has nothing to do with the iPlug). I just hope that if I take it in, the dealer doesn't try to blame the issue on me because I installed this system.
I was going to install bluetooth at the same time but I never found enough info to be comfortable with it. I may just get a GPS with built in bluetooth instead. That means I still  have to hard-wire my V1 (for when I leave Va) and a future GPS...
I attached the pics that weren't in my article.
tme110, thanks for this information. It sounds VERY interesting - would you mind telling us how much the iPlus RDS unit costs, and how easy/difficult it was to do a self-install?
It was fairly easy. The only complicated part was removing the CDR24 but even that was easier then I thought it would be. Though it did take me a couple hours but that's because I had to think through things and make several trips to my computer to find info I needed at Caymanclub.
I paid $197 for it including shipping from Hong Kong and all required adapters which may make it the most expensive modulator out there but I'm still happy.

The only place that I could find to get this from was at this address:

TME could the fading have to do with audiopilot? it can get especially annoying in the FM mode...raising and lowering volume levels
Try disabling it in the sound settings.
BMT,
No, I am only controlling the iPod with it's flywheel. The cord is plenty long enough to use it as you drive.
suneet,
I will try that. I wrote that off because it happens when I am at a constant speed and I thought it was speed dependant. Also, when it does happen, the sound just gets bad which is what happens when you turn the SS off. Hopefully the fix is that easy!
yes it keeps the iPod fully charged.
Anothing thing I noticed. On my old Ipod 'hookup', if I was done using the iPod and paused it, it would just start playing again next time I started the car. So I would always loose my spot and not know since I wasn't listening to it anymore. On this system, if you pause it, it stays paused everytime you start the car - this was a nice feature for me.
This sounds like a nice unit. The manual says that it produces CD-like audio. MP3 will never sound like CD on any system (there's just not enough data). I like the RDS display function, though.
I'm still going to wait on Dension. Supposedly they will have a CDR-24 compatible system soon. I want to be able to plug my Sirius unit into it. Also, I would love the bluetooth function for my phone, if it actually works out.
Does anyone know if the Dension uses RDS to display the song titles? I assume that that is how they are going to interface it with the radio, too.
Jeff
Yea, and that's 20.3 mpg since new too and it's my daily driver!
About the stereo fadding issue. I did turn the AP off and that didn't change a thing. The stereo does not fade if I am listening to a CD (but then again, I've done that maybe once) and I don't think its every happened with the Ipod (which is weird becauase my iPlug is wired FM) but it happens so much listening to the radio that I just don't use the radio. I guess it will be a service call.
how's the sound, is it fairly loud or do you have to max volume the Ipod, I have a monster fm transmitter and it sounds like crap...I have to max volume both the Ipod and the stereo just so I can hear it somewhat decent.
Do you think it's worth it if I don;t have the Bose upgrade?
