Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Does the frequency of the ticking alter proportionately when you change the fan speed?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Did a search but no real answer...
When my air con is on I'm getting a rythmic clicking from the front left dash area. Like a fan hitting or rubbing. Not loud but still annoying.
Any ideas? Could be a warranty issue? I don't want to take it to an OPC if it's not a warranty fix. They'll just charge me and waste my time, rather go to an Indy.
Thanks... :thumb:
Not sure if it is the same problem but I had a rattling coming from what sounded like inside the dash. It turned out to be the carpet boards in the foot well which a simple kick fixed
A warranty issue for sure. Does the frequency of the ticking alter proportionately when you change the fan speed?
There are only three things A/C related under the dash that could do this:
Fan (sometimes called blower)
Vent control flap / film (this directs the air flow according to demand and other variables and is moved by a servo motor)
Evaporator expansion valve
Is it coming from the passenger side air vent? The interior temperature sensor is in the vent housing, just below the vent grille, and it has a small fan to draw air across the sensor. Might be that.
Ok, update, I've traced the noise to the fan behind the pollen filter. When you take the filter out there's a motorised flap and then behind that is a fan. It's the fan that's making the noise, anyone know who to get at it and possibly fix/ tighten?
Problem is when you turn the fan off to inspect it the motorised flap closes... :frustrated:
