Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I have checked the wires to the pads are all fitted correctly.
Leading evidence: 'Check wires' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check continuity' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Just before I bought the car it had new Red Stuff brake pads fitted by JZM.

The wear sensor connects to a plug on the hub carrier, just unplug and check the continuity.

will look again at the wiring to the pads - continuity check required then.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have just bought a 996 C4 (loving it  ) and could do with a bit of technical advise on 2 subjects please.
1. On certain occasions I am finding that when I come to start the car, it turns over really slowly like a flat battery. This is usually when its a hot start - and defo not from cold. Is this just a battery that needs replacing or is there a known starter motor problem or battery drain problem?
I have fully charged the battery but since had a repeat of the slow turning over. I also noticed that the CD autochanger seems to make a wuring noise all the time ( noticed while charging the battery under the hood) could this be the battery drain. - Any thoughts?
2. Just before I bought the car it had new Red Stuff brake pads fitted by JZM. Great - except for the fact that the brake pad warning light is now on. I have checked the wires to the pads are all fitted correctly. Does the light need some sort of resetting or is there a known fault. Or sould I start looking for a break in the wire?
PS - I have a set of brand new sports suspension MO30 Shock absorbers - 2 front 2 rear and a set of 15mm lowered Porsche springs - 2 front 2 rear - brand now still in Porsche OE bags never fitted - I was thinking of selling them - how much are they worth and doe you guys know anyone who might want to buy them?
Cheers

Welcome Adrian!
1. Battery. The changer could be the reason why the battery is getting flat. Don't underestimate that the battery could be in need of replacement.
2. Brake wear sensor. Sounds very much like the sensor is broken. It works on the basis of a looped wire inserted into a hole in the pad. Once this loop is broken through wear the light goes on. Once replaced it doesn't need replacing.
The M030 kit could be worth a few bob!
Thanks for the rapid response and the welcome.
I think a new battery is on the cards.

The wear sensor connects to a plug on the hub carrier, just unplug and check the continuity. You do have four to check so be prepared to get your hands dirty.
If you are not too concerned about the sensor just cannabilise the old sensor and loop it back around on itself. I 'made' a set of four with judicious use of a soldering iron and some shrink-wrap
